WHAT TO EXPECT: SILESTONE QUARTZ COUNTERTOP SURFACE PRODUCT SPECIFICATION SHEET

General Information: Silestone is a natural quartz surface. Because quartz is a natural mineral, it is subject to variations that affect the overall look and hue of Silestone. The surface is therefore subject to slight variations in color, shading and particulate size and distribution. Furthermore, because natural quartz reflects light, colors may appear to be different under various lighting.

Warranty: Silestone Countertops come with a limited, registered, 10-year warranty. The installation crew will provide you with a warranty label that includes warranty terms, care and maintenance information and instructions for customers to register their Silestone project. On-line warranty registration is available at www.silestone.com. To register by phone call 1-800-291-1311. All Silestone countertops also come with a (1) year installation labor warranty.

Seaming: Placement of all seams is at the discretion of Precision Countertops. Seams will typically vary from 1/16" to 1/8" and will be visible to the eye or touch. Color coordinated epoxy will be used to form the seam and blend in with the countertop.

Finish: Your countertop will come with a polished surface. Irregularities in natural materials like quartz are common, reflecting the unique natural patterns and finish that give each Silestone countertop its distinctive appearance.

Pooling: Concentrations of color or "pooling" may occur naturally on slabs as part of the manufacturing process and should not be considered a defect.

Staining: Silestone quartz surfacing is non-porous, making it highly resistant to staining, and Silestone never needs sealing.

Cleaning: Use warm, soapy water or low PH household cleaning agents to clean your countertop. Avoid strong chemicals and solvents. Do not use nail polish remover, permanent markers or inks, oil soaps, furniture cleaners or paint strippers on the countertop.

Scratching: Quartz is one of the hardest minerals in nature. Diamonds, sapphires and topaz are the only natural minerals harder than quartz, meaning quartz surfaces are extremely durable and highly scratch resistant. Elements that are as hard as or harder than natural quartz will scratch Silestone (i.e. another piece of Silestone, a diamond-blade knife.)

Heat: Quartz surfaces are very resistant to heat, and unlikely to burn or scorch. However, like other natural stone surfaces, thermal shock or cracks may result when the surface is exposed to extreme temperature changes or prolonged exposure to heat. It is recommended that you protect your countertop from extreme heat by using trivets or hot pads.

Cut-outs: The material from sink and cook top cut-outs are not part of the finished product and will not be made available to the customer.
